    I took this product for two weeks, results were okay, nothing great. I then started taking raspberry ketones while still taking the green coffee bean extract and then this is when I noticed a difference, and big difference. Energy, appetite, and weight are the three areas that I have noticed a change in.

    More energy, less of an appetite, and yes I am finally losing weight. There are no negative side effects to speak of although I don’t think it would be a good idea to take either of these products at night, might have trouble sleeping.

    I’ve heard great things about this product and I’ve already lost a tremendous amount of weight over the past few months so I was looking for something to continue my progress. I have already taken the advice of Dr. Oz before and have him to thank for the weight I’ve already lost. Taking CLA and Raspberry Ketones totally works btw, Primaforce Max CLA 90 Softgels + Free 25 Grams Raspberry Ketones Powder. The Green Coffee Bean Extract seems to have a similar effect on me, my weight loss has slowed down but this is due to my body hitting a plateau which I’m working on overcoming by mixing up my workouts, diet, etc. I’m also not taking the cla or ketones right now because I wanted to try this first. At this point, I would probably recommend CLA and Raspberry Ketones because of the difference in price but I do like what I’ve experienced with the green coffee bean extract too, so really I could go either way!

    I’ve gotten a little frustrated trying to find any real reviews of this product … do a Web search, and it seems as if the first 8 zillion pages are companies trying to sell the product or thinly veiled “testimonials” for the same.

    So I’m going to take a little time to report my experience (so far) for anyone who understands that losing weight is hard and requires effort, and is wondering whether taking this extract IN ADDITION to making that effort will cause the weight to come off faster, or at least prevent one of those motivation-crushing plateaus.

    Like many people, I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. I’m 45, female, 5’6″, and currently trying very hard to get my weight and my cholesterol numbers down. I have not reached menopause, and my bloodwork says that I am not diabetic, pre-diabetic, or insulin-resistant. Five weeks ago, I embarked (at 206 pounds) on a serious commitment to improve my diet and increase my exercise. A week or so in, I saw the infamous Dr. Oz episode about the green coffee beans and weight loss.

    I was (and remain) skeptical. The “celebrity nutritionist” doctor interviewed about the coffee beans on Dr. Oz’s show (Lindsey Duncan) is a cofounder of the very company that manufactures this specific brand of the product … a “conflict of interest” that was very easy information to find on Dr. Duncan’s site, but that I don’t recall being shared with viewers of the Dr. Oz show. That left a bad taste in my mouth, for sure.

    Also, the original “study” quoted was of an extremely small sample of people. I don’t recall being told what their gender makeup was; how overweight they were to start with on average (in my experience, the heavier I am, the more weight I can lose quickly, at least in the early stages of a diet); whether or not they were told that what they were testing was for weight loss (being told this might inadvertently have affected how they behaved elsewhere in their lives, consciously or unconsciously); and so on.

    Also disturbingly, the original study (do a Google search, kids) said that scientists don’t yet KNOW why the green coffee bean extract might have contributed to weight loss in the study group (and cautioned that for all we know, it might be because the extract somehow triggers a physiological effect that blocks absorption of calories, including much-needed nutrients). One of the theories proposed was that the extract prevented (or dampened) the glycemic spike after eating and slowed or prevented sugar conversion to fat. But despite the fact that the actual scientists involved said they didn’t know what might be happening and that more study was needed, all the extract sellers here on Amazon and elsewhere are confidently waxing poetically about chlorogenic acids and describing precisely the mechanism by which this process “works.”

    All of the above should be red flags for anyone capable of critical thought.

    I may be fat, but I like to think that I am capable of critical thought. :-) I am skeptical of any “magic pill” approach to weight loss. Especially one that claims to work without requiring me to do any.

    STILL … I have lost (and gained) lots of weight in my life, and I know that no matter how hard I work, I will at some point plateau and stop losing. And since there WAS a widely reported study, small and scientifically inconclusive as it may have been (rather than just a little blurb on Dr. Oz), I thought it might be worth adding this extract to my regimen, to see if it helped me to keep making UNINTERRUPTED progress downward — even as I continued to follow my new reduced-calorie, reduced-fat diet AND stepped-up exercise program.

    It took weeks (as you all know) for the extract to reach my mailbox. I finally got it last week. By the time I started taking it, I had already lost 11 pounds over a four-week period (without taking any sort of extract). As of this review, I’ve been taking the green coffee bean extract for exactly 7 days. I am taking two pills twice a day (800 mg twice a day for a total of 1600 mg daily, as Dr. Oz recommended). I weighed myself this morning. I’m down another 2 pounds from the previous week.

    HOWEVER, keep in mind that this loss is well within the “average” parameters of my loss over the previous four weeks (with no extract).

    Keep in mind that I am ALSO exercising 4 hours a day (walking 6 – 9 miles on my treadmill and cycling the rest of the time on my FitDesk bike, a product which I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend for people who want to fit in some movement during otherwise sedentary computer activity).

    AND keep in mind, I am ALSO eating a modified, weight-loss-friendly diet (very little carb, no more than 20 g of saturated fat every day, probably coming in around 1200 – 1400 calories).
